Free Virtual Happy Hour: Black Winemakers & Black-Owned Wineries feat. Chris Christensen (Bodkin Wines)

Hi, everyone!

I’m going to be hosting an hour-long virtual happy hour to chat about some of my favorite black winemakers and black-owned wineries, so come join!

While I’m happy to discuss some of my favorite wines and producers, let’s be real: I’m still a white guy who can only say so much on the subject.

It’s with great pleasure that I’ll be welcoming special guest Chris Christensen to the session. As the head honcho and winemaker at California-based Bodkin Wines, he’ll be on hand to share his experience and answer questions as we sip wine, chat, and enjoy each other’s company. I’ll be enjoying his The Falconer Verdelho during the happy hour, which can be purchased from the Bodkin Wines website.

The session will be hosted on the BlueJeans platform just like my online classes, so if you’d like to come, send me an email to adam@burghundy.com. Due to platform limitations, spots are limited, so book your spot soon to avoid potential disappointment. Note that I’ll create a waiting list if necessary, and I ask that if you make a reservation and cannot attend, please try to advise ahead of time so that we can accommodate additional participants.

If you haven’t got Bodkin wines at the ready, feel free to sip whatever you’ve got, of course. If you’d like to support another black winemaker or black-owned winery, here are some more of my favorites you can seek out ahead of time:

Theopolis Vineyards (Petite Sirah — California)

Aslina (Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon — South Africa)

Tesselaarsdal (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay — South Africa)

Abbey Creek Vineyard (Pinot Noir — Oregon)

Maison Noir (Riesling, Pinot Noir — Oregon)
